No Boots on the Fencing Floor

As winter settles in, we know how essential warm, sturdy boots are for getting to and from the club.
They keep your feet comfortable in the cold, snow, and slush—and we appreciate that!
However, once inside the salle d’armes, we kindly ask all fencers, parents, and visitors to remove their boots before stepping onto the training floor.
Why No Boots?
They track in moisture and dirt, which can make our floors slippery and unsafe.
They can damage our new metal pistes, which are designed specifically for fencing—not for heavy outdoor footwear.
Sports performance matters: boots are not made for athletic movement and can increase the risk of injury.
What to Do Instead
Please bring:
Indoor sport shoes (clean and dry), or
Fencing shoes reserved for use on the pistes.
This small habit goes a long way in helping us keep the salle d’armes safe, clean, and in top condition for everyone.
Thank you for your cooperation and for helping us take care of our beautiful new pistes!
