Pour un deuxième jour cette année, EMR organise son tournoi d'escrime en plein air au parc Notre-Dame-de-Grâce, où ils présenteront l'escrime au fleuret et au sabre. Le Duel Notre-Dame-de-Grâce F/S aura lieu le 7 septembre 2019 (8 septembre en cas de pluie).
Mais ce n'est pas seulement un tournoi. Venez nous rendre visite pour regarder ce tournoi passionnant et découvrir le découvrir le noble art de l'escrime puis mettez-vous au défi de l'essayer vous-même. Des entraîneurs et membres du club seront disponibles pour expliquer et démontrer les différentes formes d'escrime :
Escrime moderne – fleuret, épée et sabre tels que pratiqués aux Jeux Olympiques. Des leçons de sabre et fleuret seront données à chaque heure pour un nombre de visiteurs limité.
Escrime Historique Traditionnelle – épée de cour française: arme traditionnellement utilisée pour l'auto-défense. Des leçons d'épée de cour seront données à chaque heure pour un nombre de visiteurs limité.
Escrime modifiée – pour les participants à mobilité réduite. Des leçons pour les 3 armes modernes seront offertes au cour de la journée pour tous ceux qui veulent s'y essayer, handicapés ou non.

Après le succès des cinq premières Duels et pour célébrer plus de 50 ans au 3e étage du centre communautaire de Notre-Dame-de-Grâce, nous retournons au parc NDG pour un deuxième jour en 2019. À travers l'escrime, les Montréalais pourront redécouvrir le parc Notre-Dame-de-Grâce récemment restauré et amélioré.
Le parc Notre-Dame-de-Grâce est accessible en voiture (autoroute Decarie, sortie Sherbrooke) et en autobus (lignes: 17, 63, 102, 105, 138). Le parc est a 12 minutes du métro (ligne orange - métro Vendôme) et une station de vélo BIXI est disponible dans le parc. Notez qu'il n'y a pas de frais d'entrée pour le parc et le stationnement est disponible sur les rues adjacentes.

For a second day this year, EMR brings its outdoor fencing tournament to NDG park, presenting Foil and Sabre fencing. The Duel Notre-Dame-de-Grâce F/S will be held on September 7, 2019 (rain date September 8).
But it's not just a tournament. Come visit us at the parc not just to watch this exciting tournament, but also to learn about the noble art and science of fencing and take up the challenge to give it a try yourself. Coaches and club members will be on hand to explain and demonstrate the various forms of fencing:
Modern Fencing – foil, epee and sabre: the 3 sport weapons seen at the Olympic games. Lessons in foil and sabre will be given once per hour for a limited number of visitors.
Traditional Historical Fencing – smallsword: a weapons that was traditionally used for self-defence. Lessons in smallsword will be given once per hour for a limited number of people.
Modified Fencing – for those with limited mobility. Lessons in all 3 modern weapons will be offered all throughout the day to anyone who wants to try, disabled or non-disabled.

After the success of the first five Duels and to celebrate 50 years on the third floor of the NDG community center, we are bringing this event back to NDG Park for a second day in 2019. Through fencing, Montrealers will be able to rediscover their newly restored and much improved park.
NDG park is accessible by car (Décarie expressway, Sherbrooke exit) and by bus (lines: 17, 63, 102, 105, 138). The park is a twelve minute walk away from the metro (orange line - Vendôme metro) and a BIXI bicycle station is available in the park. Please note that there is no entrance fee for the park and that parking is available on adjacent streets.
