Whether you want to watch or fence, it's an event for the whole family:
This year, EMR brings its annual outdoor tournament to NDG park. The Duel Notre-Dame-de-Grâce will be held on June 8, 2019 (rain date June 9).
But it's not just a tournament. Come visit us at the parc not just to watch this exciting tournament, but also to learn about the noble art and science of fencing and take up the challenge to give it a try yourself. Coaches and club members will be on hand to explain and demonstrate the various forms of fencing:

Traditional Historical Fencing – smallsword: a weapons that was traditionally used for self-defence. Lessons in smallsword will be given once per hour for a limited number of people.
Modified Fencing – for those with limited mobility. Lessons in all 3 modern weapons will be offered all throughout the day to anyone who wants to try, disabled or non-disabled.
Don’t miss this memorable opportunity to try fencing for yourself.
After the success of the four previous editions of the Duel and to celebrate 50 years on the third floor of the NDG community center, we are bringing this event back to our home borough. Through fencing, Montrealers will be able to rediscover their newly restored and much improved park.
NDG park is accessible by car (Décarie expressway, Sherbrooke exit) and by bus (lines: 17, 63, 102, 105, 138). The park is a twelve minute walk away from the metro (orange line - Vendôme metro) and a BIXI bicycle station is available in the park. Please note that there is no entrance fee for the park and that parking is available on adjacent streets.

Canadians are challenged to try fencing and as many of the other activities on the list as they can to get moving more, sitting less and for chances to win great prizes.
